This February plays host to The Moneta Party, a fabulously fun Instagram party in which we all have a chance to show off our gorgeous Monetas. The party is hosted by our blogging friends the Triple Stitchers – Rach Against the Sewing Machine, Sew Positivity and Sew Abigail
And here at Crafty Sew & So we’re joining in!
The Moneta Dress, by Colette, is one of my favourite patterns. It’s a simple jersey dress with a gathered waist. The pattern includes a selection of sleeve lengths and there’s even a free download for a range of fabulous collars.
My Moneta, (which may or may not be finished in time for the party) will be made from this eye-catching Peacock Feather Viscose Jersey. I’m a little nervous about stretching out the fabric when gathering the waistband. So far I’ve made one successful Moneta and one less successful one. This time I will take full of advantage of Freya and Sarah’s expertise in attaching the elastic!
Freya will be creating her Moneta from this very pretty Mint Polka-Dot Cotton Jersey. She’s keeping her dress simple, with no collar and short sleeves. However, she will be altering the pattern to accommodate her baby bump by shortening the bodice to create an empire-line shape.
Will you be joining The Moneta Party? How will you make yours?
