Pyjama Days

Hello!

We’ve had a fun week with lots of workshops and deliveries of new products at the shop.  We’ve also been having a play with our embroidery machine, a Brother Innov-is V5, which is pretty epic.  We are trying to use the machine as much as we can to learn all its functions so we’re able to talk to customers about it. This was the perfect excuse to make up some fun things for ourselves! Funnily enough, both Sarah and I recently made some pyjamas using the V5 to embellish and personalise them

Sarah has used Tilly and the Button’s Fifi pattern for the pj bottoms and our own t-shirt pattern for the top. Using a gorgeous cotton interlock jersey for the tee, Sarah found an embroidery on urbanthreads.com, which successfully sums up our approach to most Saturday nights! These two pieces make a super cute set- especially as Sarah used some of the Michael Miller fabric for the shorts and to make a neckband on the top.

I’ve used our basic pyjama pattern, which is the one we use in our workshops, for my shorts, and used the V5 to put a monogram on the leg.

I’d seen something similar on Pinterest, and was really happy to have just enough fabric left from my new pillows of this lovely seersucker, which was perfect!  I bought the monogramming font from etsy.com, and I have the full alphabet saved for other projects.  I’m a sucker for preppy styles, which is silly, because I’m naturally a scruffy person.  The top is also our own t-shirt pattern.

We both loved playing with our embroidery machine, there is so much it can do!  If you would like to use our fab embroidery machine in our sewing cafe,  pop in and talk to us about it.
