Our Favourite Five Valentines Day Crafts

We’ve been having so much fun setting up our new window display for valentines day! Our newest contributor Laura helped design this fabulous arrangement.

There are so many cute and practical valentines crafts out there here are just five of our favourites.

Sweet Heart Valentines Garlands

Banner

Freya from Crafty Sew&So designed this lovely bunting. A quick and simple craft project using hand stitching. Freya will be hosting a workshop to make this lovely garland on Saturday 13th  February, there are still a few spaces left. It will be a great craft to share with children or your other half.  If you can’t make it to the workshop be sure to check out Freya’s blog The Dressmaking Diaries

Fun Heart Pillows

These cushions are easy and really fun, you can download a free pdf pattern from Fleece Fun. Though the pattern calls for fleece for a cuddly effect, it will work just as well with a nice patterned cotton or our cosy dimple fleece.

Heart Hot Pad

These are romantic and practical! Leafy Tree Top has created a really good tutorial for these hot pads. we’ve got lots of coloured ric rac and pom pom trim to trim your own. We also have some useful heat resistant wadding perfect for this design.

Felt Fortune Cookies

This is more of a cutting and gluing exercise than  sewing but I thought they were too cute not to include. It’s from Martha Stuart Living and absolutely adorable. I really like the fact you can write little personalised messages and fill with your partners little sweets. Just remember that you’ll also need florists wire (available from most craft shops) as it’s not on the materials list.

Love Note Valentines Day Bunting

These are a lovely craft idea designed by Lil’ Luna. We made a giant envelope for the valentines day window and really love the idea. You can add personal messages inside the envelopes. I think it would be cute to hand stitch a little note onto calico. The vintage fabric works really well for these.

We made our own giant love letter envelope for our window display. We hope you’ll come and take a look.
